7 Layer Magic Bars

Tower of Terror

These delicious squares are good for a cottage or to slip in your lunch for a treat. I’ve made different variations of the base, but this is the original version. If you’re not wild on graham crackers, I’ve used oats or crushed up cereal for the first layer. And they’re super easy and quick to make!

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips (6 oz)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (6 oz)
  • 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped

Mix the butter and graham cracker crumbs

Pack the mixture down firmly into the bottom of a baking dish

Pour the condensed milk evenly over the crumb mixture

Load on your favourite ingredients! Butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, chopped peanuts and coconut

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat 13 x9 inch baking dish with parchment paper, sprayed with cooking oil

2. Mix graham cracker with softened butter and PRESS DOWN FIRMLY into the pan with a wooden spoon

3. Pour condensed milk over the crumb mixture evenly

4. Top off with the nuts, coconut, and chocolate chips. Press down firmly

5. Bake 25-30 minutes or until the edges start to brown. Cool completely and cut into squares or diamonds

C’est fini!
