Our friend Liz gave us another great dessert recipe this week! Compared to her Chocolate Cake post, this Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream is easy to make and a healthy alternative. Thanks again Liz!
This recipe is sooo easy (only 3 ingredients) and can be modified a thousand different ways. The original recipe uses Nutella but since I didn’t have any on hand, a little cocoa powder did the trick!
Ingredients (serves 3-4):
- 4 ripe bananas
- 2 tbsp of peanut butter
- 1 tsp of cocoa powder
Start off by freezing sliced ripe bananas overnight. Once they’re frozen, throw them in a food processor and pulse it up until the bananas are smooth and look just like gelato! The bananas will first have a gravel-like texture…keep going (about 5 minutes).
Once the bananas are smooth, add the peanut butter and cocoa…or whatever else you would like. Frozen strawberries, mangoes, peaches, raspberries etc. would all be amazing!
Mmmmm…enjoy a guilt free delicious treat!
